Concert Blowout

February 04, 2009  11:44 AM

The other week, my friend invited me to see Lady Gaga at Element in Kitchener. The concert wasn’t until March 26, and the tickets weren’t going to start selling for a couple days still – but we were already making plans; who would drive, if we’d do anything before that and such. And when the day finally arrived for us to buy our tickets, I got a nice facebook message from my friend stating, “OMG tickets are sold out. This sucks. They apparently sold out within 3 minutes!!!” Can you believe that? After all our planning, and excitement about seeing Lady Gaga (and just planning a wicked awesome night), we didn’t even have time to buy tickets the same day they started selling them. I was so disappointed. However, we have decided to find another concert to see when a band we like comes around (hopefully at Element, because it’s so convenient).

Maybe you don’t even know you Lady Gaga is. I didn’t really know who she was either, until my friend informed my about the concert. She is an American singer-songwriter whose hometown is New York. Influences of her music include rockers, David Bowie and Queen, as well as dance pop from Madonna and Michael Jackson. Much of her music is related to electronica, pop and dance genres. She is also known for her fashion tastes that include appearing in rubber outfits, origami style dresses and wearing some outrageous false eyelashes too. Some of her hits include, “Beautiful, Dirty Rich”, “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”, which ironically are my favourite songs by her. Why not check out some of her videos on youtube, and perhaps you’ll like them as well.
